The Rhine-Ruhr 2025: FISU World University Games are getting closer

The FISU World University Games 2025 will be held in five German cities from 16 to 27 July 2025.

The Rhine-Ruhr region is preparing for the FISU World University Games 2025, which will take place from 16 to 27 July 2025. Around 8,500 student athletes from over 150 countries will compete in 18 sports. This makes the FISU World University Games one of the largest multi-sport events of the year.
Sport and culture in five cities
The competitions will be held in Bochum, Duisburg, Essen, Mülheim an der Ruhr and Hagen. Berlin will also be the venue for individual disciplines such as swimming, water jumping and volleyball finals.
German delegation
Germany will be taking part with ‘Team StuDi’. A total of 305 athletes and 177 delegation members have been nominated.

Preparations are underway and the Torch of the Games has completed its international journey and was welcomed in Mülheim an der Ruhr.
